Feature: The Egyptian festival El Sakia for short films will start in March.

CAIRO – February 20, 2021: The 18th edition of the El Sakia Festival of Short Films will begin in March.

The 18th edition will be named after the late veteran Egyptian actor Mahmoud Yassin.

The festival is a large, dramatic event tailor-made to showcase short films.

The short films highlight feelings, places and characters.

The short fictional film can take you to a world full of exciting events.

Film submission is open to individuals, for-profit and non-profit organizations

Submit movies and forms to Google Drive only, keeping in mind that movies are not shown on YouTube in any way.

The production years of the films should be in the (2020 and 2021).

Films submitted must not have participated in previous Sakia festivals.

The subscription fee is £ 70 for one film and directors can submit a maximum of 4 films.

El Sawy Culture Wheel has the right to screen participating films in its monthly programs.

The festival reserves the right to exclude any film containing offensive, racist or any violation of Egyptian social norms.

Any incomplete request will not be processed

Participants must complete the registration form “available on the” Cinema El Sakia “Facebook page, submit the director’s artistic biography, film preview and some photos from the film.

The duration of the film should not exceed 45 minutes and not less than two minutes, with a copy of the ID or passport.

The festival rewards:

First: the golden wheel

(3000 LE + Trophy + Certificate)

Second: the silver wheel

(2000 LE + Trophy + Certificate)

Third: bronze wheel

(1000 LE + Trophy + Certificate)

Jury Prize:

– Best Actor Award (500 LE + Certificate of Appreciation)

– Best Actress Award (LE 500 + Certificate of Appreciation)

– Best Editor Award (LE 500 + Certificate of Appreciation)

– Prize for the best photograph (500 LE + Certificate of appreciation)

– Best achievement award (LE 500 + Certificate of appreciation)

– Best Screenplay Award (500 LE + Certificate of Appreciation)

All participants will be invited to the closing day at El Sakia Culture Wheel.
